Coogee Chemicals diesel fuel rail siding
Tetra Tech Proteus’ detail design, piping stress analysis and construction assistance created new rail siding and loading infrastructure at Coogee Chemicals’ diesel fuel facility at Kwinana, Western Australia, where rail car tankers are loaded for distribution.
The project integrated:
- Storage tank modifications for new, larger suction piping
- A new 900m, DN300 diesel transfer line from tank farm to loading siding
- A new diesel fuel distribution system
- A new fuel distribution pump station and new rail car filling station with custodial fuel dispensing system. The system’s five loading arms are each rated to 2400L/minute.
A lined containment area for diesel loading and associated water treatment facility were provided to manage spillage or contaminated storm water. All design work and construction assistance achieved full compliance with regulations including AS 2885.1-2007.
