Nelson Point water pipeline replacement

Tetra Tech Proteus designed and replaced a 2.3km, above-ground water pipeline from the Water Corporation facility to BHP’s Nelson Point operations, avoiding existing above- and below-ground services.

The project included a tie-in to the Water Corporation’s network and trenchless installation of the new DN500, cement-lined Sintakote pipeline. Micro-tunnelling for 90m under Port Hedland’s main road enabled it to remain open to traffic during the project installation.

Tetra Tech Proteus managed stakeholder liaison with Water Corporation, Main Roads WA, Port Headland Council and Horizon Power.
